Mark your calendars, Westchester—on Monday, September 29, 2025, Garcia’s at The Capitol Theatre is about to get a lot more fabulous. The world’s first Grateful Drag band, BERTHA, is rolling into town, and trust me, this isn’t your average Dead cover band. Think tie-dye meets sequins, Jerry Garcia meets RuPaul, and harmonies so good you’ll wonder why you ever listened to the Dead without lashes and lip-syncs.
Straight out of East Nashville, BERTHA is a collective of queer and allied talent who’ve taken the Grateful Dead’s beloved music and given it a joyful, irreverent makeover. Rolling Stone even called them, “Nashville’s BERTHA gives the Dead an irreverent, joyful makeover.” Translation? This is going to be one wild, feel-good night.
Here’s what makes BERTHA special:
💃 A harmony trio of “Berthas” up front
🎸 A full band rocking out behind them
✨ Full glam—wigs, makeup, and sparkle included
🎶 Dead classics you know and love, served with a drag twist
And because joy and giving go hand in hand, BERTHA has partnered with PLUS1, meaning $1 from every ticket sold supports local LGBTQ+ health and wellness organizations. So yes, you can dance all night and feel good about it.
